Water quality monitoring

Ai Automation has developed an automated method of monitoring the water quality of the habitat where fish live.
Find out in real time, through the browser-accessible monitoring interface, the temperature, ph or the amount of ammonia and nitrite.

Temperature

Variations in water temperature are a factor causing sensitivity in many fish species. Water temperature directly influences the concentration of dissolved oxygen and other water quality parameters impacting on fish growth and development.

pH monitoring

Most freshwater species are adapted to a pH between 6.5 and 8. A drop in pH below 6.5 leads to a dramatic decrease in the survival of roe, and the acidity and toxicity of the water increases dramatically, which seriously affects fish populations.

Ammonia and nitrites

In the first phase, the rate of nutrient conversion to energy and growth are influenced by high ammonia and nitrite concentrations. Fish become lethargic, lose energy and grow slowly. Then, if ammonia and nitrite levels are not balanced, the water can become toxic, leading to progressive increases in mortality of exposed fish populations.

Turbidity and conductivity

Sensitive fish species need more attention than others to prolong their lifespan. For these species, turbidity and conductivity are water quality parameters that need to be monitored.
